RISE Learning For Life
is a self-directed organization governed by its own elected officers and operating in accordance with its own constitution.

Throughout the country, more and more colleges and universities are developing similar programs. RISE classes are often discussion groups or workshops led by member facilitators, although some are presented by experts from hospitals, universities and the community. Classes are offered during the day and each is about two hours long. The RISE curriculum is set by the Curriculum Committee with input from membership. Classes cover subjects on history, science, the arts and humanities as well as current events, etc.  

TRIMESTERS:
A trimester system was begun in 2000.RISE now offers fall, winter and spring sessions and a special summer program. Many classes are completed in two hours but some classes are offered as a series once a week for two or more weeks during a session.

PARTNERSHIP:
RISE and the West Valley Art Museum, 11400 Avenue of the Arts, Surprise, through grants from the Arizona Humanities Council, have formed a partnership to offer special series of presentations. The programs are presented at the Museum and are free to the public.

MEMBERSHIP:
Membership is open to any Maricopa County, Arizona adult. Classes are open to members only. Membership is the key, the classes are free.* Registration is by mail, fax or in person at the RISE office using a form mailed to members or online.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES:
July 1 through June 30, $45.00 per person
